This type of tree, because of its majesty and its strong roots, was considered in many cultures as the center of the world, the heart from where all forces in the world ran. This work talks about the confluence in an image of several cultural and social phenomena; it tries to represent a whole culture with a single image (or, at least, that is the intention of it). In the “Yoruba” religion, the Ceiba is a powerful image; it is like a church, like a place of resistance.
